I am a music educator who has worked to build a program rooted in performance, creativity, inclusion, and student growth. Across my tenure period for New York City Public Schools (NYCPS), I have strengthened my planning, expanded student access to meaningful musical experiences, refined my assessment systems, and grown in my ability to build a learning environment where students can work collaboratively, and take creative, artistic and intellectual risks.
My portfolio is organized around the Danielson Framework for Teaching and shows how my practice has developed across planning, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities. Throughout these pages, I highlight the ways I have aligned instruction to the NYC Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Music, differentiated for varied learners, built structures for performance-based assessment, and pursued professional opportunities that directly benefit students.
A central theme of my work is growth — both my students’ growth as musicians and my own growth as an educator. Observation feedback, lesson plans, assessment tools, grading systems, professional learning, and program partnerships show a trajectory from solid and promising practice toward greater clarity, responsiveness, leadership, and intentionality.
